Job summary

VEG is seeking an Emergency Credentialed Veterinary Technician to join our front-line ER team in Austin, TX. You will perform triage, anesthesia, monitoring, and nursing care across a broad spectrum of emergencies while providing compassionate support to pets and their families.

You should be a CVT/RVT/LVMT with 1+ year of veterinary technician experience, able to lift up to 25 kg, and prepared to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; AVMA-accredited program preferred.
• Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, RVT, LVT, LVMT) in the practice state is required; VTS is a plus.
• 1+ year experience in a veterinary technician role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care and emotional support from triage to discharge.
• Assist with treatments, diagnostics, anesthesia, monitoring.
• Manage IVs, CRIs, blood transfusions, and critical care tasks.
• Collaborate with doctors to shape plans and maintain care flow.
• Perform ER procedures across a wide range of cases with empathy.
• Handle diagnostics, imaging, sample collection, and tube placements.
