VEG ER for Pets in Dallas, TX seeks a Veterinary Nursing Shift Lead to orchestrate shift flow, ensure top-tier patient care, and support VEGgies on the floor. You will lead huddles, manage coverage, and mentor staff in a fast-paced ER environment.

Qualifications

• CVT/RVT/LVMT credential or enrolled in VEG Credentialing Support Program preferred.
• 1+ year experience in veterinary technician or assistant role; emergency or specialty medicine preferred.
• Strong grasp of clinical workflow and team dynamics.
• Leadership instincts and ownership mindset; desire to grow professionally.

Responsibilities

• Keep pulse on patient status, team bandwidth, and shift-wide needs.
• Manage daily workflow and pivot when the unexpected hits.
• Ensure shift roles are assigned and adapted with clarity.
• Jump in on the floor when help is needed.
• Coordinate breaks, resolve conflicts, and model calm under pressure.
• Lead shift transitions, team huddles, and end-of-day wrap-ups.
• Communicate clearly and elevate key issues.
• Turn downtime into learning time or a moment to breathe.
• Flag incidents or notable events with transparency and growth mindset.
• Work with hospital leadership on coverage and ongoing coaching.
