North Peninsula Veterinary Emergency Clinic in San Mateo, CA seeks an experienced Practice Manager to lead daily hospital operations, partnering with the Medical Director and Regional Director of Operations. You will cultivate a high‑performing team, deliver outstanding client service, and drive financial performance in a fast-paced emergency setting.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in veterinary/healthcare operations management, CVPM or business degree, and strong leadership and HR skills.

Qualifications

• CVPM or business degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in medical/veterinary/healthcare operations management.
• Strong knowledge of HR, scheduling and staff development.
• Experience with sales, marketing and financial performance management.
• Veterinary industry knowledge strongly preferred.
• Proven leadership, decision-making and coaching skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead hospital operations aligned with standards and client experience goals.
• Model company values and ensure high-quality patient care and service.
• Identify barriers and proactively implement workflow improvements.
• Recruit, hire, train, coach, and discipline team members as needed.
• Develop development plans and foster career growth for associates.
• Build staff schedules for coverage, efficiency and compliance with labor standards.
• Conduct performance reviews and wage planning.
• Manage budgeting, KPIs, and hospital planning.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and the local community.
• Collaborate with Medical Director and Regional Director of Operations.
