Job summary

Portland Veterinary Emergency and Specialty Care (PVESC) in Portland, Maine, seeks an experienced Practice Manager to lead daily hospital operations for our Urgent Care and Specialty teams. You’ll partner with hospital leadership to optimize staffing, workflows, and client and patient care while fostering a collaborative, positive workplace culture.

This full-time role offers 40–45 hours per week, a salary range of $90,000–$110,000 per year, and opportunities for professional development,

Qualifications

• 2+ years of leadership or management experience in veterinary medicine.
• 5+ years as a licensed or certified veterinary technician in a hospital setting.
• Experience in urgent care, emergency, or specialty medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily hospital operations including staffing, scheduling, and workflow optimization.
• Coach and support veterinary technicians, client service representatives, and support staff.
• Foster a positive, collaborative culture focused on teamwork, accountability and growth.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing team development.
