VEG is seeking a Part-time Emergency Veterinary Assistant to join our fast-paced team in Lynnwood. You’ll be at the heart of the action from day one, supporting your teammates, comforting pet parents, and learning the ropes in real time—from triage to treatments and the tail wags.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Enrollment in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software/EMR.
• Excellent communicator with clients and team.
• Fine motor skills for handling patients and equipment.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours; lift up to 25 kg and assist up to 40 kg.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays; adapt to a noisy environment.

Responsibilities

• Be the first warm welcome and triage incoming patients.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics including bloodwork, imaging, catheter placement, and oxygen support.
• Work with credentialed technicians and veterinarians on anesthesia and sedation cases.
• Set up and manage IV fluids, blood products, and medication administration.
• Support both outpatient and inpatient care from exam room to treatment area.
• Join rounds to maintain continuity of care.
• Learn CPR and become a RECOVER Certified Rescuer (training provided).
• Grow into advanced roles such as anesthesia support, ultrasound, and catheterization.
