Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group (VEG) in Lynnwood, WA is hiring an Emergency Veterinary Assistant. You’ll support your team from day one, triage patients, assist with treatments, and help keep pet parents informed with care updates.

You’ll work with credentialed technicians and veterinarians across intake to treatment, gaining hands-on experience, learning CPR, and accessing guided training paths to grow into advanced roles within our fast-paced ER.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• AVMA-accredited program enrollment is a plus.
• 1+ years in veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus).
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours and lift up to 25 kg.
• Willingness to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Strong communication with pet parents and team.

Responsibilities

• Greet and triage patients, guiding families to care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation with the team.
• Manage IV fluids, transfusions, and medications.
• Support care in outpatient or inpatient settings.
• Join rounds to maintain continuity of care.
• Learn CPR and earn RECOVER certification.
• Grow into advanced roles through guided training.
