Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group in Lynnwood, WA is seeking a part-time Emergency Veterinary Assistant who will support the team from day one, triage patients, assist with treatments and nursing care, and help monitor anesthesia and recovery under supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program is a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with practice management software and EMR.
• Excellent communication with pet parents and your team.
• Ability to stand for prolonged hours, kneel, and lift up to 25 kg.
• Must be willing to work nights, weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
• Work well in a fast-paced environment with diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Be the first warm welcome and guide patients toward care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics (bloodwork to imaging).
• Work with credentialed technicians and veterinarians to set up and monitor anesthesia and sedation.
• Set up and manage IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medications.
• Assist during every moment of care: outpatient or inpatient, exam room to treatment area.
• Join patient rounds and maintain continuity of care.
• Learn CPR and become a RECOVER Certified Rescuer (training provided!).
• Grow into more advanced responsibilities such as anesthesia support and ultrasound through training pathways.
