VEG is seeking an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to be at the heart of the action from day one, supporting your team, comforting pet parents, and learning the ropes in real time across triage, treatments, and the care of patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrolled in AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty experience is a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Be the first warm welcome and a steady support, triaging incoming patients and guiding them toward care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics from bloodwork to imaging and catheter placement.
• Work with credentialed technicians and veterinarians on anesthesia and sedation setup and monitoring.
• Set up and manage IV fluids, blood products, and medication administration.
• Assist during both outpatient and inpatient care, from exam room to treatment area.
