Job summary

VEG ER for Pets in Carle Place, NY is looking for a per diem Emergency Veterinary Assistant. You'll triage patients, assist with medical care, and be an integral part of the emergency team. This role offers competitive compensation and flexible hours.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role preferred.
• Emergency or specialty experience is a bonus.
• Willingness to work in a noisy environment.

Responsibilities

• Triage incoming patients and guide them toward care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Manage IV fluids, blood transfusions, and medication administration.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Enrolled in an AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program
