Job summary

Veterinary Emergency Group in Austin, TX seeks a per diem Emergency Veterinary Assistant to support triage, treatments, and patient care alongside credentialed technicians and veterinarians. You’ll be involved from day one, helping pet parents and learning real-time clinical skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Enrollment in AVMA-accredited veterinary tech program is a plus.
• 1+ years in a veterinary assistant role (emergency or specialty a bonus).
• Basic computer skills and EMR familiarity required.

Responsibilities

• Greet and triage incoming patients and guide them to care.
• Assist with treatments, nursing care, and diagnostics.
• Assist veterinarians and techs with anesthesia and sedation setup.
