Job summary

VEG is searching for an Emergency Veterinary Assistant to be at the heart of the action from day one, supporting the team, comforting pet parents, and learning the ropes in real time.

You’ll triage, assist with treatments, monitor anesthesia, manage IV fluids, and grow into advanced responsibilities through guided training pathways—while enjoying benefits like health coverage, a 401K match, and flexible schedules.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Enrollment in AVMA-accredited program is a plus.
• 1+ years in veterinary assistant role preferred.
• Strong communication and multitasking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Triages incoming patients and guides them toward care.
• Assists with treatments, nursing, diagnostics, and anesthesia setup.
• Monitors patients during care and supports IV fluids and medications.
• Collaborates with licensed veterinary staff to ensure continuity of care.
