Job summary

The Salvation Army Corp is seeking a Shelter Attendant to support the day-to-day operations of the emergency shelter. You will complete intake paperwork, enter data into the HMIS system, and ensure residents have access to necessary supplies and medications.

You will monitor safety, enforce house rules, and coordinate tasks for residents to maintain a secure, clean environment. You will also conduct security checks, respond to emergencies, and assist with meal ticketing and wake-up routines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent
• Availability for varied shifts including evenings and weekends
• Ability to maintain accurate records and follow procedures

Responsibilities

• Completes intake paperwork and accurately keys information into HMIS
• Ensures rooms and house areas are orderly and safe for residents
• Distributes towels, linens and hygiene items; manages medication access as required
• Monitors residents to ensure safety and compliance with house rules
• Responds calmly to emergencies and follows established policies
• Opens/closes facility at designated hours and assigns tasks to residents
• Maintains cleanliness of lobby, hall and office areas; handles trash and laundry
• Performs security checks and documents activity; enforces house rules
