Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California is seeking a Housing & Shelter Supervisor to oversee case managers and the emergency shelter program in Sacramento. You will ensure high-quality case management, housing referrals, and compliance with funding requirements.

You will coordinate with partners, prepare HMIS reports, and drive positive outcomes for clients while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.

Qualifications

• AA Degree and at least five years related experience or equivalent education.
• Must be familiar with the social services aspect of The Salvation Army.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent English written and verbal skills; bilingual preferred (Spanish or other languages a plus).
• Ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle.
• Able to work independently without daily supervision.
• Knowledge of Word and Excel 2003/2007; HMIS experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all Case Managers at the Emergency Shelter.
• Assigns and supervises daily work tasks to case managers.
• Supervises the provision of case management and housing services to shelter clients.
• Manages logs, reports, and client files of shelter clients.
• Manages quality and quantity of client case management appointments.
• Responsible for HMIS reporting for all shelter contracts.
• Develops and maintains a community referral list for the Emergency Shelter.
• Lead coordination with TSA Case Managers and SFF Navigators for documented readiness.
• Establishes housing referral system with landlords and housing authorities.
• Ensures case managers meet with clients regularly and follow funding requirements.
