Job summary

St. David's HealthCare in Texas offers a year-long RN Residency Program designed to ease the transition from student nurse to registered nurse. This paid program provides hands-on experience, mentorship from nurse educators, and a structured series of learning experiences across emergency services.

The residency includes advanced clinical training, monthly educational sessions, preceptorship, simulations, and an evidence-based project, with opportunities at multiple Austin-area centers.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) obtained within 30 days of employment
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) obtained within 1 year of employment
• Other Certifications maybe required during employment
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program
• Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying changes.
• Document care in patient records and administer medications as ordered.
• Teach patients and families about condition, plan, medications and side effects.
• Provide compassionate care and respond promptly to patient requests.
• Collaborate with care team using evidence-based nursing models.
