Job summary

The HCA Healthcare Residency Program at St. David's Healthcare offers a year-long, paid residency designed to transition new graduates into registered nurses through hands-on clinical training, mentoring, and structured learning experiences.

As an RN Resident, you will participate in advanced clinical training, preceptorship, and evidence-based projects across Austin-area facilities, with start cohorts in Feb–Apr 2027, supported by nurse educators and experienced staff.

Qualifications

• BLS obtained within 30 days of employment.
• ACLS obtained within 1 year of employment.
• Other Certifications may be required during employment.
• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nursing program.
• Registered Nurse License or Graduate Nurse in the State.
• No previous experience needed.
• Some travel may be needed for training.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition during admission and each shift, reporting changes.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or functions as ordered; document care in chart.
• Administer medications, monitor response, notify provider if needed.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs.
• Teach patients and families about conditions, plan, medications, and follow-up.
