Job summary

Wilson Medical Center, part of Lifepoint Health, seeks an experienced RN leader to oversee the Emergency Department and Behavioral Health services. You will direct clinical programs, staffing, and departmental operations to ensure high-quality patient care across all ages.

You will collaborate with physicians and hospital leadership, mentor staff, manage budgeting and performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement in patient flow and outcomes.

Qualifications

• BSN is required.
• Minimum 5 years ER or Behavioral Health experience.
• Minimum 3 years nursing leadership or management experience.
• BLS certification required (or within first week).
• ACLS and PALS required.
• TNCC required within 12 months of hire.
• Handle With Care certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Strong critical-thinking skills and ability to lead under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of the Emergency Department and Behavioral Health services.
• Directs clinical programs, workflow, staffing, and departmental administration.
• Ensures high-quality, safe, and compliant patient care across all age groups.
• Develops, implements, and evaluates departmental policies, procedures, and performance standards.
• Provides clinical consultation and support to ensure optimal patient flow and care delivery.
• Mentors, coaches, and develops staff, including charge nurses and preceptors.
• Ensures regulatory compliance, readiness, and adherence to hospital and accrediting body standards.
• Leads departmental budgeting, productivity monitoring, and resource management.
• Collaborates with physicians, hospital leadership, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Evaluates patient care outcomes and drives continuous improvement initiatives.
