Job summary

Blanchard-Valley-Health-System in Findlay, OH seeks an ER Tech I to support physicians and nurses in the Emergency Department, assist with patient care, transport, and maintain supplies. Under supervision, you help register patients and keep a clean, organized environment.

You will perform phlebotomy and specimen collection as trained, follow safety policies, answer calls, and uphold service excellence while protecting patient safety and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent is required.
• Current BLS CPR certification or obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Experience in healthcare settings or STNA certification is preferred.
• Positive service oriented communication and strong teamwork are essential.
• Proficient typing and computer skills; capable of using hospital systems.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates care appropriate to the patient age and reports changes in condition.
• Assist with patient care and room preparation as directed by nursing staff.
• Orders and restocks patient care supplies to meet daily needs.
• Exhibits service excellence to promote patient satisfaction.
• Complies with policies to ensure quality performance and compliance.
• Train and maintain competency in phlebotomy, nasal and throat cultures.
• Train and maintain competency in BWC drug screens.
• Witness patient signature and notify if unsigned when needed.
• Enter ED supply and physician procedure charges into the computer.
• Answer telephones, route calls, and communicate messages appropriately.
• Maintain all departmental and unit competencies.
