Job summary

HCA Healthcare Summerville Hospital is seeking an Emergency Room Registered Nurse to coordinate high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment. You will work with physicians and the care team to apply established nursing models and advocate for patients and families.

This role emphasizes pain management, timely response to requests, and educating patients and caregivers about conditions, treatments, and follow-up steps.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
• < 1 year applicable experience
• Current RN license in the state(s) of practice and/or active compact license
• BLS within 30 days of start date
• ACLS within 90 days of start date

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management.
• Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s).
• Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record.
• Responds promptly to patient requests and protects patient comfort.
• Educates patients/families/caregivers about condition, treatment, medications and follow-up measures.
