Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a paramedic for the Emergency Department at Davie Medical Center to provide rapid, patient-centered care during 7p–7a shifts across three 12-hour shifts per week. Must hold Paramedic certification with BCLS and state OEMS EMT-P requirements; ACLS/PALS may be required within a year in some areas.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years EMS experience and can work collaboratively in a fast-paced ED, documenting care in the EMR and maintaining high professional standards.

Qualifications

• Paramedic certification from an accredited program or an A.A.S. in paramedic studies or equivalent.
• Three years of Emergency Service experience preferred.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and state OEMS EMT-P required.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient and family centered care across life stages.
• Rapid evaluation of life threatening emergencies and initiate therapies within scope.
• Collaborate with nursing and medical teams to set treatment goals.
• Maintain patient privacy and professional behavior in a safe environment.
• Document medications and treatments in the Electronic Medical Record.
• Support optimal patient flow and participate in professional practice models.
