Job summary

Advocate Health’s Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center – Critical Care: Emergency Room in Winston-Salem, NC seeks a paramedic for the Emergency Department. The role requires paramedic certification or an A.A.S. in paramedic studies and offers 35.1 hours per week with a pay range of $24.10 to $36.15 per hour.

Required BCLS and EMT-P certification; ACLS/PALS may be required in certain areas. Three years of emergency service experience is preferred; opportunities for professional development exist.

Qualifications

• Paramedic certification or A.A.S. in paramedic studies or equivalent.
• Three years Emergency Service experience preferred.
• BCLS certification and state OEMS EMT-P required.
• ACLS or PALS may be required within one year in select areas.
• Critical care certificate or national registry paramedic preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient/family centered care focusing on physical, emotional, spiritual, cultural, religious, and environmental needs.
• Collaborate with nursing and medical team to establish treatment goals.
• Maintain a safe environment and protect patient privacy.
• Communicate effectively to share information across the continuum of care.
• Document medications and treatments in the EMR and perform re-assessments.
• Support optimal patient flow and ED safety.
