Job summary

The Office of Emergency Response Unit (OER) seeks a Customer Information Representative in New York City. The role handles customer service via computer databases and coordinates responses for emergencies and non-emergency situations.

A rostered shift includes 2 PM–10 PM, Thursday to Monday, with weekend work and two weekdays off. Required qualifications include a college degree or two years of relevant experience, or a combination per NYC guidelines.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent.
• An associate degree with two years of relevant full-time experience using computers/databases.
• A four-year high school diploma with four years of related experience.
• Combination of education and experience may be substituted per NYC rules.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service using computer databases and information systems.
• Monitor radio frequencies and respond to calls per SOP; log transmissions accurately.
• Perform data entry and retrieval across systems; create incident descriptions with location data.
• Coordinate responses and forward unresolved matters to appropriate staff for action.
