Job summary

The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (NYC Health Department) invites applications for Public Health Educator - 51110. This role reports to the Director of Outreach & Staff Development and focuses on neighborhoods served by the 2Care initiative, coordinating trainings for parents, medical providers, and community partners.

You will create trainings, materials using PowerPoint, Photoshop, Microsoft Office, and Articulate, manage forms, data collection, and monthly reports.

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time experience in developing public health education programs, needs assessments, designing educational materials, planning presentations or workshops, and evaluating programs.
• Master’s degree in health education or related field with required experience as described above.

Responsibilities

• Conduct trainings for parents, medical providers, and community partners about the EI program.
• Create trainings, resources, and materials using PowerPoint, Photoshop, Office programs, Articulate, and related tools.
• Prepare outreach materials, complete forms timely, and generate monthly reports.
• Perform outreach in the evenings or weekends across the five boroughs as needed.
• Demonstrate an accurate understanding of the EI program.
• Work and collaborate with BEI and Outreach staff.
