Job summary

Capital Health in Hopewell, VA seeks a Pharmacy Technician to obtain patient medication histories in the Emergency Department and document them in the EHR for pharmacist review. You will also assist with related inpatient technician tasks as needed and coordinate with outpatient pharmacies.

The role requires a CPhT certification, NJ Board of Pharmacy registration (or within 6 months), and at least two years of pharmacy technician experience; strong communication and attention to detail are

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPhT certification required; NJ Board of Pharmacy registration or obtain within 6 months.
• Two years Pharmacy Technician experience required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed interviews with patients to obtain medication histories for ED patients.
• Document current medications and allergies into the EHR for pharmacist review.
• Communicate medication history to ED pharmacists, physicians and nursing staff.
• Assist in inpatient pharmacy technician tasks as needed.
• Collaborate with pharmacies and providers to verify regimens and resolve discrepancies.
