Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable with computer use, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of medical terminology or prior experience in healthcare.
• High school diploma or GED preferred from an accredited school.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a professional image and strong customer relations with patients and staff.
• Interview patients to collect demographics, insurance and medical information and verify identity.
• Explain plan benefits, preauthorization needs and medical necessity; assist with forms.
• Estimate pre-service charges, explain patient liability and collect payments; discuss payment plans.
• Transcribe and validate orders and schedule walk-in appointments.
• Promote patient engagement, including MyChart activation.
• Monitor environment and assist patients, families and visitors as needed.
• Assist with wayfinding and connect patients to care.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
