Job summary

Riverview Health in Indiana is seeking a Paramedic to support the Emergency Department. You will collect information, communicate with the RN/physician, and help manage patient care to ensure timely and effective treatment during visits.

Responsibilities include initiating emergent care under supervision, stabilizing patients, and assisting with procedures, vital signs, and patient transport. ACLS/PALS/BLS are required or pursued as part of ongoing certification.

Qualifications

• Minimum EMT-P course completion and EMT-P certification, State of Indiana.
• ACLS and PALS must be obtained within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Collects and conveys information to RN and physician regarding patient health status in the ED.
• Initiates emergent care within scope of practice under supervision.
• Assists ED patients and outpatients to establish and maintain patient flow.
• Takes vital signs, records input/output, attaches monitoring equipment.
• Initiates lifesaving measures as needed.
• Stabilizes and extricates injured patients; transports as directed.
• Assists with wounds, procedures, and basic lab tasks.
• May administer limited medications as ordered by physician.
