Job summary

Qualifications

• State-certified EMT-P with Indiana paramedic licensure is required.
• Current ACLS, PALS and BLS certifications are required or must be obtained.
• Aggressive multitasking and ability to support ED operations under RN supervision.

Responsibilities

• Collects and conveys patient information to the RN and physician regarding health status during ED visits.
• Initiates emergent or appropriate care within scope of practice under supervision.
• Assist patients and outpatients to maintain effective ED flow and transport as needed.
• Take vital signs, monitor outputs, attach monitors, and assist with airway management.
• Stabilize and extricate injured patients and transport as directed; assist with wounds and procedures.
• Perform phlebotomy, basic lab procedures, wound cultures, POCT, EKGs, and IVs as required.
