Job summary

Riverview Carmel ER/UC in Indiana seeks a qualified Paramedic to provide care in the Emergency Department, including assessment, transport, wound care, vital signs, and patient support. You will collaborate with RNs and physicians, monitor vitals, administer limited medications as allowed, and ensure patient flow and safety.

Required: EMT-P certification Indiana, ACLS, PALS, and BLS, with ongoing training; ACLS and PALS must be obtained within six months of hire.

Qualifications

• State-certified EMT-P with Indiana certification.
• ACLS and PALS must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Experience as a paramedic is preferred (one year).

Responsibilities

• Collects and conveys information to RN and physician regarding patient health status in the Emergency Department.
• Initiates emergent or appropriate care under supervision of the ED RN.
• Assists patients to establish and maintain effective patient flow in the ED.
• Takes vital signs, records inputs/outputs, applies monitors and alarms as requested.
• Performs phlebotomy, Point of Care testing, EKGs, and basic wound care as directed.
• Assists in maintenance of department equipment and stocking rooms.
• May administer limited medications as ordered by the attending physician.
