Qualifications

About This Position

This role provides basic life support to the sick and injured and safely transports individuals to medical facilities. The EMT supports paramedics by providing advanced care within their scope, under the guidance of Paramedics or RNs.

Requirements

Education

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an accredited EMT training program
  • Successful completion of IV and medication variance training through North Memorial Ambulance

Experience

  • Previous ambulance experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to organize, problem-solve, and make decisions during emergencies
  • Knowledge of local streets and highways

Licensure/Certification

  • Current Minnesota or Wisconsin EMT Certification
  • American Heart Association or Red Cross BLS Certification
  • ICS-100, ICS-200, ICS-700 (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
  • Valid Class D Driver's license with acceptable record
  • Advanced EMT certification for Wisconsin EMTs within 18 months or active enrollment in a Paramedic Program

Work Group: Non Contract

Hours: 80 per two weeks, variable shifts, weekends on rotation, on-site, non-exempt status.

Salary Range: $23.50 - $33.50/hour, based on experience.
