We are seeking EMTs who already have Thurston county certification!

Our expectations of you as a Northwest Ambulance EMT:

  1. Strictly follow the policies and procedures of NWA and County Medical Protocols.
  2. Efficiently complete assigned tasks and submit necessary paperwork promptly.
  3. Must be punctual and attentive.
  4. Ensure the accuracy of documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  5. Identify and mitigate potential risks to patient safety, adhering to established procedures.
  6. Operate the ambulance safely at all times, in compliance with Washington State and company regulations.
  7. Collaborate with dispatchers and management to deliver compassionate and timely care during unexpected circumstances.
  8. Act with integrity and support the company, its values, and its employees, while striving to exceed customer expectations and deliver high-quality patient care.
  9. Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to high uniform standards.
  10. Ensure cleanliness, organization, and restocking of the ambulance throughout each shift.
  11. Perform other assigned duties.

Requirements:

  1. Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  2. Outstanding interpersonal and customer service skills.
  3. Proficiency in understanding vital signs, including correct measurement and interpretation of values.
  4. Capability to operate an oversize vehicle safely and smoothly.
  5. Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  6. Superb time management capabilities.
  7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  8. Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced and occasionally stressful environment.
  9. Ability to complete comprehensive and billable reports for each patient interaction.

Must have:

  1. NREMT or Washington State EMT certification.
  2. Active driver's license maintained for 2 years or longer.
  3. Clean driving record (limit of 2 citations in past 36 months; DUI and serious offenses may disqualify).
  4. High school diploma or equivalent.
  5. Must be 19 years or older.
  6. All new hires for Thurston County must hold an active Thurston County Certification.

Experience:

Newly certified NREMTs and lateral EMTs are accepted in Thurston County. Lateral incentives include PTO accrual rate matching, seniority matching, and wages between $26.30 - $36.20/hour based on experience. Lateral requirements include one year of documented service in pre-hospital 911 or IFT transport.
