Where is the work:
This position is designated as remote within a specific geography, with work performed in Lexington, KY.
What you will do:
- Start and commission new HVAC and Controls systems, diagnose and repair environmental-control systems, utilizing electronics, direct digital control, airflow, refrigeration theory, and mechanical techniques in diverse commercial settings.
- Serve as the direct customer contact, servicing products and equipment on assigned projects, ensuring customer satisfaction by diagnosing and repairing equipment and systems at customer locations.
- Coordinate with team leader and customer to understand requirements for installation and repairs, forecast issues, gather materials, and synchronize on-site work.
- Stay current on Trane products related to installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair of direct digital control systems.
- Enforce safety standards and maintain security and accountability of company assets by recording use and conditions.
- Maintain flexibility to work overtime, including occasional overnight stays, to meet business needs.
What you will bring:
- High School Diploma or equivalent; 3-5 years of HVAC/Controls experience preferred. Technical training is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and handheld devices (smartphones, tablets).
- Valid driver’s license for at least 12 months, with no major traffic violations in the past 3 years.
- Experience with DDC controls systems preferred.
- EPA certification preferred.
Additional Requirements and Environmental Exposure:
- Ability to operate a vehicle safely and legally.
- Ability to wear safety gear, including helmets, goggles, fall protection, and safety boots.
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as twisting, squatting, reaching, standing on concrete, and lifting up to 40 lbs regularly.
- Ability to access rooftops and confined spaces, and work in variable weather conditions.
This role is designated as Safety Sensitive.
Compensation: $30-45 per hour, with additional earning potential through our Technician Commission program.
Note: Base pay ranges are US averages; actual pay depends on experience, seniority, and location.
