Job summary

National EMR seeks medical reservists to support impacted communities and first responders on an as-needed basis. This role is not full-time; reservists may deploy within 24-48 hours and work intermittently to fill incident needs across the nation.

Clinicians provide medical care in shelter units, maintain licensure, and travel as required. Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays is essential to respond to hurricanes, fires, and other emergencies.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program with NCCPA certification.
• Nurse Practitioner with ANCC or AANP certification may qualify.
• Must hold an active APP license and unrestricted DEA registration.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required and up to date.
• Complete FEMA IS-100.c, IS-200.b, IS-700.b, IS-800.c courses. Proof required.

Responsibilities

• Understand National EMR and DFPS/illness protocols.
• Exhibit clear communication with clinic staff, command staff, and physicians.
• Establish health care plans for the service population using best practice guidelines.
• Complete accurate documentation per policy, contract, and timelines.
• Review and update medical protocols with chain of command.
• Maintain deployable readiness within 6–12 hours of activation.
• Provide National EMR support when on call and during office hours.
• Support disaster preparedness, response, and recovery initiatives as needed.
