Job summary

40 National Emergency Management and Response is seeking qualified Advanced Practice Providers to serve as reservists in emergency response roles. Responsibilities include clinical assessment, treatment, and documentation within shelter medical units, with readiness to deploy on short notice.

The position requires valid APN/PA credentials, current licensure, and unrestricted DEA registration. Scheduling is intermittent, deployments vary by mission, and compensation aligns with contract

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program and certified by NCCPA, or Nurse Practitioner Program and certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
• Must hold current APP License, an unrestricted DEA registration, and be eligible to work unrestricted.
• Proof of course completion for each course above required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Understand National EMR and DFPS protocols for illness, injury, medication administration and emergency situations.
• Communicate with clinic staff, command staff, and physicians.
• Establish health care plans for the service population using best practice guidelines.
• Complete accurate documentation per agency policies, contract, and regulatory requirements.
• Review, write, and update medical protocols and procedures with chain of command.
• Meet all pre‑determined deadlines required by the program and federal partners.
• Adhere to National EMR Policies and Procedures Manual, Uniform Handbook, and Operations Manual.
• Maintain readiness to deploy within 6–12 hours of activation; keep availability updated via National EMR’s mobile application.
