Job summary

911 Emergency Communications in Swansboro, NC is seeking dedicated Emergency Medical Dispatchers to support urgent medical calls. You will gather patient and incident details, establish priorities, and coordinate EMS resources according to approved protocols.

A high school diploma is commonly required; CPR certification may be required and EMT/paramedic credentials are not universally required. Some positions include training and certification sponsorship; overtime and night shifts are possible.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and other medical emergencies
• Confirm the patient’s location, callback number, and access details
• Ask approved questions about the patient’s condition
• Determine response priority through the authorized medical dispatch system
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when included in the assignment
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responding personnel
• Document call processing and participate in quality-review activities
