The role requires a high school diploma (or equivalent) and CPR/EM Dispatcher certification where required. Training and overtime may be involved as part of a continuous operation environment.

Qualifications

• Emergency Medical Dispatcher certification may be required.
• CPR certification may be required; EMT/paramedic credentials not universal.

Responsabilités

• Receive calls involving illness, injury, and medical emergencies.
• Confirm patient location, callback number, and access details.
• Ask approved questions about patient condition.
• Determine response priority through the dispatch system.
• Dispatch or coordinate ambulance resources when assigned.
• Provide protocol-based instructions within current qualifications.
• Relay patient information and scene hazards to responders.
• Document call processing and participate in quality reviews.
