Job summary

Yale New Haven Health is seeking a Dispatcher in the Protective Services Department to handle security communications, monitor access control points, and document incidents using dedicated security systems. The role requires responding promptly to emergencies, coordinating with officers, and maintaining accurate logs.

The ideal candidate has at least one year of dispatch or security experience, strong communication and CAD skills, and familiarity with CCure9000; CT guard card is preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent; must complete in-house training for CCure9000 access control.
• Statewide Emergency Telecommunications certification preferred.
• Minimum one year of dispatch or security-related experience with clerical duties and rapid decision making.
• Excellent communication, CAD entry, and prioritization skills; able to work under stress.
• Telecommuter or EMD certifications preferred; CT guard card upon hiring may be required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and dispatch security-related calls promptly; assess severity and dispatch officers accordingly.
• Document incidents using the IT infrastructure in the dispatch area.
• Monitor access points and security systems (cameras, card readers).
• Log into security systems at the start of each shift to enter data for analysis.
• Demonstrate dispatcher duties and familiarity with Emergency Response Plans and Codes.
