The NYC Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) seeks Emergency Managers for the Division of Field Operations within BWSO. The role centers on emergency planning, response, recovery and interagency coordination to support the city’s water and sewer systems.

Field Operations ensures reliable water distribution and wastewater collection, with readiness to respond to incidents, coordinate resources, and train staff.

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of related community work experience.
• High school graduation or equivalent with six years of related experience.
• Equivalency allowing use of education/experience to meet above requirements with at least one year of related experience.

Responsabilités

• Respond to emergency conditions and provide management support at the scene.
• Assess impact on local community and critical facilities.
• Plan and coordinate emergency response with city, state agencies and utilities.
• Develop emergency management action plans and provide technical support.
• Participate in Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP) for essential operations.
• Coordinate Bureau special operations and maintain DEP Operations Centers.
