Job summary

The City of Twinsburg invites applications for a Dispatcher/Records Clerk to join our public safety communications team. This full-time, classified union position requires accuracy, calm under pressure, and the ability to multi-task in a busy dispatch center.

Candidates must complete the NTN Entrance Exam by the deadline and pass a background investigation, polygraph, and pre-employment screenings. Prior driving history will be reviewed; confidentiality and attendance are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen.
• Valid Ohio Driver's License with good driving history.
• No felony convictions or convictions that would be a felony in Ohio.
• Pass a background investigation including polygraph and multiple criminal history databases; obtain and maintain required certifications.
• Must pass Civil Service Entrance Exam and follow pre-employment process including drug screen and psychological assessment.
• Must maintain reliable attendance and perform essential duties under stress.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and operate phone, radio and computer systems for emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Dispatch police, fire and EMS as needed and assign priority levels.
• Enter and manage data in computer systems and LEADS as required.
• Provide emergency medical dispatch and crisis intervention when necessary.
• Maintain recordkeeping and assist training of new Dispatchers.
• Communicate clearly and follow instructions in emergencies and routine operations.
