Job summary

Yakama Nation is seeking two Dispatchers for the Tribal Police Department to operate in a 24/7 dispatch center. The role involves answering 911 and business calls, entering and updating calls in CAD, and coordinating radio communications with field units.

Responsibilities include prioritizing responses, maintaining accurate records, and complying with Yakama Nation regulations. A high school diploma and dispatch experience are required, with hardship shifts and drug tests part of the onboarding

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of office support experience.
Six months of radio communications and dispatch experience.
Must be 18 years of age.
Background check and pre-employment drug test required.
Must pass Level II Certification for ACCESS within 6 months of hire.
Must have basic first aid/CPR card.

Responsibilities

Answers multi-line calls for Tribal Police related to complaints, crimes, and emergencies; enters data into CAD.
Dispatches patrol units and manages information flow to field personnel.
Maintains current status of law enforcement personnel on Yakama Reservation.
Determines response requirements and priorities per procedures.
Maintains records accurately and adheres to procedures.
Represents the department following the code of conduct and safety standards.
