Job summary

The Town of Pecos City seeks a Telecommunicator to receive and transmit emergency and administrative messages across police, fire, and medical dispatch systems. You will enter data into CAD and RMS, dispatch units by radio, and coordinate with officers at the scene.

Under general supervision, you will maintain daily logs, prepare incident reports, and perform routine equipment maintenance. Pre-employment drug screening and background checks apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Texas Driver's License required.
• Ability to communicate effectively under stressful conditions, type, and operate CAD and basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Receive and transmit emergency and administrative messages over police, fire, and medical dispatch systems.
• Enter information into CAD and RMS systems; retrieve information for dispatch.
• Dispatch police vehicles by radio and coordinate with officers at the scene.
• Coordinate radio communications with State Police and other local departments as needed.
• Maintain daily logs and security files; prepare court information files and incident reports.
• Perform minor maintenance on equipment and report failures; respond to after-hours calls.
