Job summary

The City Of League City is seeking a Telecommunicator to join its 24/7 Public Safety Communications Center. You will answer 9-1-1 and non-emergency calls, dispatch Police, Fire and EMS, and relay critical information to responders while guiding lifesaving actions.

This safety-sensitive role requires Criticall testing, background checks, and certs such as Emergency Medical Dispatch and TCOLE basics within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pass Criticall computerized testing.
• Pass pre-employment screenings including background investigation and psychological exams.
• Obtain Emergency Medical Dispatch certification within one year.

Responsibilities

• Operates CAD with radio system to dispatch field units and relay information.
• Manages radio communications for Police, Fire, EMS and related services.
• Relays information to City departments and public safety agencies promptly.
• Answers incoming 9-1-1 calls and provides lifesaving instructions.
• Handles non-emergency lines and coordinates with jail and admin.
• Processes data from TCIC/NCIC and monitors teletype and systems.
• Provides training to new staff and maintains certifications.
• Verifies warrants and related documents according to policy.
• Works a 24/7 shift schedule and supports during emergencies and disasters.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
