Job summary

County of Northumberland is seeking a capable dispatcher to respond to emergency and non-emergency 911 calls, determine appropriate responses, and input data into CAD systems. You will coordinate police, fire, EMS and EMA dispatches, while maintaining timely communication with responders and the public.

Responsibilities include using multiple computer systems, providing EMD when needed, and participating in ongoing training to stay current with policies and technology.

Responsibilities

• Responds to emergency and non-emergency 911 calls; evaluate and determine emergency response; obtain caller information and input into CAD.
• Enters, updates and retrieves information from multiple computer systems promptly.
• Provides Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) as required with current software.
• Coordinates police, fire, ambulance and EMA dispatches and relays information to responders.
• Transmits and receives messages between agencies; monitors units and records results in CAD.
• Accesses CLEAN/NCIC and validates information via CAD or SCOPE.
• Attends ongoing in-service training and education.
• Collaborates with management to understand policy and technology changes.
