Job summary

The City of Belton is seeking a skilled Dispatch Operator to handle incoming emergency and non-emergency calls and coordinate police, fire, and medical response. You will perform data entry, recordkeeping, and monitor teletype communications within the Belton Police Department.

Applicants must pass a thorough background check, hold a High School diploma, and obtain the Texas Telecommunicator Certification within six months of hire; shift work and full benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Texas Telecommunicator Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency and non-emergency calls at the Police Station.
• Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units as needed.
• Enter, update, and research information in TCIC/NCIC and TLETS/NLETS databases.
• Perform data entry, recordkeeping, and other clerical duties.
