Description

Under general supervision, performs specialized work in receiving, processing, and dispatching emergency and non-emergency communications for police, fire, animal control, and after-hours utility services. Operates advanced communication systems and serves as a critical link between the public and emergency responders. This position is designated as a first responder under applicable state law.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Education: High school diploma or GED required.

2. Experience: Previous dispatch or emergency communications experience preferred.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

Must be able to work nights, weekends, holidays, and during emergency situations. Regular exposure to stressful and emotionally charged situations involving individuals in crisis.
