Job summary

The role requires calm, structured questioning, rapid prioritization, and coordination across police, fire, EMS, and other agencies, with strict adherence to protocols and CJIS-like guidelines.

Qualifications

• Emergency call processing, radio procedures, incident prioritization, responder-safety practices, geography and mapping, and public-safety terminology.
• De-escalation, active listening, crisis communication, cultural awareness, teamwork, and professional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Answers emergency and non-emergency calls and gathers location, callback information, incident type, hazards, and other responder-safety factors.
• Dispatches and coordinates law-enforcement, fire, emergency medical, public works, emergency management, and mutual-aid resources per protocol.
• Relays complete, concise, and timely updates; maintains radio discipline and interoperable communications during incidents.
• Creates and updates accurate CAD/event records with observed facts, actions taken, and dispositions.
• Makes required notifications to supervisors and partner agencies as directed.
