Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid Alaska driver's license or ability to obtain and maintain.
• Typing speed of at least 45 words per minute.
• Clear and professional communication by telephone, radio, in writing, and in person.
• Ability to assess information, establish priorities, make sound decisions under stress.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality with criminal justice, medical, personal, and security-sensitive information.
• Six months of related public safety, dispatch, corrections, security, or records experience preferred.
• Must complete required public safety communications, criminal justice information systems, and corrections training within stated timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Receive, prioritize, document, and dispatch emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Operate dispatch, radio, records, and criminal justice information systems.
• Coordinate emergency notifications and response resources.
• Perform authorized prisoner intake, custody, care, observation, release, records, and facility-security duties in accordance with laws and policies.
