Job summary

Anchorage Police Department is seeking a Police Call Taker / Dispatcher to join the Communications Center. You will answer 911 and non-emergency calls, determine the appropriate actions, and dispatch police units. Data entry in the CAD system is required.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus three years of public contact experience and a valid Alaska driver's license. A typing speed certification may be required at time of hire.

Qualifications

• Three years of public contact and office clerical duties with dispatch exposure.

Responsibilities

• Answers emergency 911 and non-emergency calls and routes to proper agency.
• Dispatches police personnel using radio and telecommunications equipment.
• Maintains data in CAD and related systems; performs related clerical tasks.
