Job summary

Piedmont Henry Hospital is hiring an ED Tech to assist in the clinical aspects of patient care under supervision. The role requires emergency medical credentials and involvement in age-appropriate patient care.

The candidate will work within a team to support nurses and doctors in a fast-paced hospital setting. Required qualifications include Georgia EMT or NREMT intermediate certification, nursing student status with acute care exposure, and BLS CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Georgia EMT certification or NREMT intermediate certification required or equivalent.
• Nursing student enrolled in an accredited program with ≥1 acute care clinical rotation required.
• Two years of patient care tech or ER tech experience in lieu of EMT license required.
• BLS CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• The ED Tech participates in the clinical aspects of patient care under RN or LPN supervision.
• Provide care to the age-specific population to which assigned.

Nursing student with 1+ clinical rotation in an acute care hospital

Responsibilities

The ED Tech participates in the clinical aspects of patient care with all members of the health care team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Possess the knowledge and ability to provide care to the age specific population to which assigned.

Qualifications

Education

• One of the following: Required
• Current Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification or previous Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification Required or
• A student currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has completed at least 1 semester of clinical rotations within an acute care hospital Required or
• In Lieu of 2 years of patient care tech and/or Emergency Room Tech experience in lieu of EMT license Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Current BLS CPR Card Upon Hire Required
