Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Northside is seeking an ED Tech to support clinical care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The position requires EMT certification (Georgia or NREMT Intermediate) or current enrollment in an accredited nursing program with clinical rotations in an acute care hospital.

Candidates may additionally substitute EMT certification for two years of ER/patient care tech experience. BLS certification is typically expected at hire.

Qualifications

• Current Georgia Basic EMT Certification or NREMT/Intermediate certification required
• Nursing student enrolled in accredited program with at least 1 semester of clinical rotations in an acute care hospital required
• In lieu of 2 years of patient care tech/ER tech experience, EMT license is required or equivalent experience

Responsibilities

• Participate in clinical patient care under supervision of RN or LPN
• Provide care to age-specific populations according to assignment

Education

• One of the following: Required
• Current Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification or previous Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification Required or
• A student currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has completed at least 1 semester of clinical rotations within an acute care hospital Required or
• In Lieu of 2 years of patient care tech and/or Emergency Room Tech experience in lieu of EMT license Required

Licenses and Certifications
