Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Northside is seeking an ED Tech to assist with clinical patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The role requires EMT certification or enrollment in an accredited nursing program with clinical rotations, or equivalent patient care tech experience.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required upon hire, and the candidate should be prepared to provide care across age groups as assigned in a fast-paced ED setting.

Qualifications

• Must hold or be eligible for EMT certification as outlined (Georgia EMT/NR EMT or Intermediate).
• Nursing student with at least 1 semester of acute care clinical rotations.
• In lieu of EMT license, 2 years of patient care tech/ER tech experience may suffice.

Responsibilities

• Assist in clinical patient care under RN/LPN supervision.
• Provide age-appropriate care to assigned patient population.

Education

EMT Certification (Georgia/NR EMT) or NA Registry/Intermediate EMT

Nursing student in accredited program (clinical rotations)

Experience in patient care tech/ER tech substitute for EMT license

Qualifications:

Education

• One of the following: Required
• Current Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification or previous Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification Required or
• A student currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has completed at least 1 semester of clinical rotations within an acute care hospital Required or
• In Lieu of 2 years of patient care tech and/or Emergency Room Tech experience in lieu of EMT license Required

Licenses and Certifications
