Piedmont Newnan Hospital is seeking an Emergency Department Tech to assist in clinical patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. The role supports age-specific patient care needs in a fast-paced ED setting.

Required credentials include Georgia EMT certification or an RN student in an accredited program, with BLS CPR upon hire. Hospital experience as a patient care tech or ER tech is valued as well.

Qualifications

• EMT certification or RN student with clinical rotations required.
• Current BLS CPR card upon hire required.
• Experience as patient care tech or ER tech can substitute EMT license.

Responsibilities:

The ED Tech participates in the clinical aspects of patient care with all members of the health care team under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse. Possess the knowledge and ability to provide care to the age specific population to which assigned.

Qualifications:

Education

• One of the following: Required
• Current Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification or previous Georgia Basic EMT Certification or National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians Registry/ Intermediate Level certification Required or
• A student currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program and has completed at least 1 semester of clinical rotations within an acute care hospital Required or
• In Lieu of 2 years of patient care tech and/or Emergency Room Tech experience in lieu of EMT license Required

Licenses and Certifications

• BCLS - Basic Life Support Current BLS CPR Card Upon Hire Required
